Description

On the surface this piece represents the love-sparring dance between low frequency red and high frequency purple and has the Japanese text ダンス特相対 (Dance Toku-Sou-Tai) which is short-hand for special relativity or Einstein’s famous E=mc². However, if you look a little deeper you will reveal or uncover the persons behind the cloak and dagger. Many may not know but some of the best ninjas were women which if they were truly covert assassins, it would explain the debate of if the historical existence of “Kunoichi” (female ninja) actually occurred or not. Even more interesting is the first Japanese character for ninja is by itself pronounced “shinobi” which means to endure or conceal and is written with a blade or sword over a heart (忍). There are many connotations to this, but some thoughts give rise to the idea of cutting one’s heart, concealing one’s heart, or stealing/infiltrating one’s heart. All this is why the Japanese language is so vague yet so eloquently deep or as the English say, “a picture can say a thousand words.”

Oversized means comfort in style and this shirt passes the coziness test with flying colors. Made with 100% carded cotton, it feels like a heavy, warm hug that is perfect for colder days. Meanwhile the dropped shoulders along with the boxy fit, make it the perfect choice for any casual setting.

– 100% carded cotton
– Medium-heavy fabric (8.2 oz /yd² (280 g/m²))
– Oversized fit
– Sewn-in label
